From Kindergarten through Grade 12, there is one common issue that looms in your students’ minds: What am I going to do when I grow up? How do you help your students to not only prepare for a job, but to gain the mindset needed to succeed in the global economy?

During this workshop, we are pleased to partner with the Florida Advanced Technological Education Center (FLATE) who has arranged a panel of experts from Florida Industry to discuss the skills and mindset of employees in these changing times.

Florida manufacturers produce a wide variety of products and employ people from many different careers; Florida is home to over 19,000 different manufacturers who employ over 300.000 workers. There are many opportunities for your students to consider for the future. We have asked the panel members to focus on the skills and mindset that they require in employees of today and tomorrow. From design thinking to decision-making employers all over the state are searching for good candidates. Learn how you can help better prepare your students for successful careers.

Following the panel, we will provide some lessons and resources aligned to K-12 Florida Standards. These include design challenges and decision-making lessons you can use with your students to help prepare for the jobs of the future.
